SpayAid PEI was founded in 2007 by a group of concerned citizens
whose goal is contribute to the humane efforts to stem the tide of companion animal over-population. Our sister organizations in this
effort are Cat
Action Team (CAT) and the PEI Humane Society. If you are interested in reading our
constitution and by-laws, please click on this link.
By reducing the number of unwanted pet litters in low income families, we hope to reduce the numbers of surrenders to the Humane Society,
as well as the numbers of animals that are abandoned, stray or dropped off in the country. Fewer surrenders of companion animals will
reduce the population pressure at the PEI Humane Society, and will allow a larger
percentage of the surrendered animals to be adopted to new homes.
SpayAid PEI and her program operate solely on the work and support of our volunteers and members. You can support SpayAid PEI
by:
- Preventing more litters of pups and kittens from being born;
- Spaying and neutering your own pets;
- Discussing the need to spay and neuter pets with your friends and family;
- Becoming a member of SpayAid PEI;
- Donating funds to SpayAid PEI;
- All of the above!!!
